Import Sanyo Xacti Mp4 to iMovie11/09/08 smoothly

"I am trying to import HD video from my Sanyo Xacti video camera into iMovie but several seconds of the video are cut off for each video I try to import. Most recently I tried to import a two minute video an almost 1 minute was not imported. Any ideas why this keeps happening. Thanks."  From apple discussion

Sanyo Xacti series has a good reputation for compact size, superb video quality, crisp and clear Sound, it even has external mic jack and a headphone jack which is unusual for a camera of this size, and the last, affordable. The common Sanyo Xacti models including Xacti VPC-CG10, Xacti VPC-CG20, VPC-CG65, Xacti HD2000, Xacti HD1010, Xacti HD1000, Xacti VPC-PD2 etc. The common feature of these camcorder are they both recording Full HD Mp4 format as the following:
Videos: ISO standard MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 (.MP4)
Audio: 48kHZ sampling, 16bit, 2ch, AAC 

How about Sanyo Xacti Full HD MP4 and iMovie compatibility?
But the truth comes that Sanyo Xacti Full HD import iMovie isn't supported. When Cnet review Sanyo Xacti VPC HD1000, it summarize its Pros as "Full HD 1080i footage does not work with Mac iMovie 08, iMovie 09".   
And from the iMovie official site we often see Apple's claim to have import problem with the Sanyo Xacti models:
